More Cosponsors Needed for H.R. 2713
Earlier this year, Representatives Lois Capps (D-CA) and David Joyce (R-OH) introduced H.R. 2713, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act . H.R. 2713 reauthorizes the Title VIII nursing workforce development programs at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and also amends the advanced educating nursing (AEN) grants to include clinical nurse specialists and clinical nurse leaders in the AEN definition. H.R. 2713 ensures the Title VIII programs will continue to address the specific needs of the nursing and nurse faculty workforce as well as patients in our communities.

Currently, H.R. 2713 has 49 cosponsors and we need more in order to move H.R. 2713 out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Tell your US representative to cosponsor H.R. 2713. Don't forget to pass this message on to another NLN member and share with your constituent league members.

The NLN has more detailed information about the Title VIII programs as well as a list of Title VIII grants for all states in FY 2014 .

The Capitol Connection wishes you and your loved ones a safe and joyous holiday season. The next issue will be published on January 5, 2016. .
